Two large ships made in Bangladesh have been exported to neighbouring country India for Tk 50 core each.
Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das were present during the handing over ceremony. The ships were handed over to Indian company Jindal Steel Works on Friday (Jan 10), on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Homecoming Day.
Western Marine Shipyard Chairman Saiful Islam said that this is the first time 8,000 Deadweight Tonnage (DWT) ships have been made in Bangladesh.
